Wow, I forgot how great this album was! I haven't listened to it much since the year it came out, when I spun it a lot, and it's so consistent! I think at the time, even though I liked it, I wanted more of the MKII uptempo Purple. Listening back to it, Uncommon Man and All the Time in the World are absolute masterpieces.
I dream of an alternate reality where Deep Purple's setlists from 1996 onwards were 80%+ Morse material, with 3-4 songs from the MkI/MkII era added as special treats. I think the band did themselves a grave disservice by not standing behind their new material.
